Multi-Dimensional Arrays
- Multi-Dimensional are used to store data in matrix format i.e. in rows and columns.
- Creating an multidimensional array:
- A multidimensional array can be created by specifying size of each dimension.
datatype arrayname[size1][size2][size3]...;
For eg: int a[3][5]; //a 2 dimensional array of size 3X5.png)
Accessing Array Elements
- Elements of an array can be accessed by using subscript operator [ ].
arrayname[row][column]
For eg: int a[3][4]; //a 2 dimensional array of size 3X4
Multi-dimensional array Initialization
- While defining an array we can directly store values into it.
datatype arrayname[size1][size2]={values...};
For eg:
- int a[2][3]={2,3,7,1,2,1};
- int a[2][3]={{2,3,7},{1,2,1}};
- int a[2][3]={{2,3,7,1}};
- int a[2][3]={{2},{1,2}};
